Our Commitment to Fairness

At 1UP Esports, we believe that true competition can only exist on a level playing field. This global rulebook outlines the standards we expect from every player, team, and coach participating in our ecosystem. By registering for any 1UP event, you explicitly agree to abide by these rules.

The Penalty System

Warning

Issued for minor infractions (e.g., being late to check-in, minor chat toxicity).

Match Forfeit

Issued for moderate infractions or repeated warnings (e.g., using a banned exploit, severe delay).

Disqualification

Issued for severe infractions (e.g., collusion, extreme toxicity, refusing admin instructions).

Permanent Ban

Issued for the most severe violations (e.g., cheating, hate speech, account sharing).

General Competition Rules

Player Eligibility

All players must be at least 16 years of age to compete in 1UP Esports cash-prize tournaments. Players under 18 must have signed parental consent.

Account Standing

Players must use their own accounts. Account sharing or playing on another person's account is strictly forbidden and will result in a permanent ban.

Connection Stability

Players are responsible for their own internet connection. Disconnects during a live match will follow the specific game's reconnect policy, but admins reserve the right to force a forfeit if the connection drops repeatedly.

Match Check-in

Teams must check in 30 minutes before the scheduled match time. Failure to check in results in an automatic forfeit.

Code of Conduct

Sportsmanship

All players must exhibit good sportsmanship. Friendly banter is acceptable, but it must not cross the line into personal attacks or excessive taunting.

Zero Tolerance Policy

Hate speech, racism, sexism, homophobia, and any form of severe discrimination or harassment will result in immediate disqualification and a permanent ban from the platform.

Admin Interactions

Tournament admins hold final authority over all disputes. Disrespecting, ignoring, or arguing aggressively with an admin will incur penalty points or disqualification.

Collusion

Match-fixing, intentional throwing, or any form of collusion between opposing teams to manipulate tournament results is strictly prohibited.

Anti-Cheat & Integrity

Third-Party Software

The use of any unauthorised third-party software, scripts, macros, or cheats that provide an unfair advantage is forbidden.

Hardware Modification

Controllers and hardware must adhere to the official standards of the respective game. Hardware macros or turbo buttons are not allowed.

Exploits & Bugs

Intentionally using known in-game bugs or exploits to gain an advantage will result in a match forfeit. Admins will maintain a list of banned exploits for each game.

Screen Capture

Players may be required to stream their perspective or provide local recordings (MOSS/Anti-Cheat logs) upon admin request to verify competitive integrity.

Communication & Media

Official Comms

All official match communication must occur within the 1UP Esports platform match chat or designated Discord channels to ensure visibility for admins.

Streaming Guidelines

Players are encouraged to stream their matches, but must adhere to the required stream delay (typically 3 minutes) to prevent stream sniping.

Media Rights

By participating, players grant 1UP Esports the right to broadcast, record, and use match footage for promotional and highlight purposes.

Game-Specific Rules

In addition to this global rulebook, each tournament features a game-specific ruleset detailing format, map pools, character bans, and server settings. These are always available on the specific tournament registration page.

Note: In the event of a conflict between the global rulebook and a game-specific ruleset, the game-specific ruleset takes precedence for that specific tournament.
